Ingredients:

For the Brisket:

2 lbs beef brisket

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

cup BBQ sauce

For the Sandwiches:

4 hoagie rolls, toasted

1 tablespoon butter


1 small onion, thinly sliced

1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese

cup crispy fried onions optional

Directions:

Prepare the brisket: Preheat the oven to 300F 150C. Rub the brisket with olive oil, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Slow-cook the brisket: Place the brisket in a baking dish, cover with foil, and cook for 3-4 hours until tender. Shred the meat and mix with BBQ sauce.

Sauté the veggies: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and cook onions and bell peppers until soft and slightly caramelized about 5 minutes.

Assemble the cheesesteaks: Divide the BBQ brisket among the toasted hoagie rolls. Top with sautéed onions and bell peppers, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Melt the cheese: Place the assembled sandwiches under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and serve: Top with crispy fried onions if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
