Would you eat this Bacon Cheeseburger Grilled Cheese ?
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef 80/20 for extra juiciness
8 slices thick-cut bacon
8 slices of your favorite bread sourdough or Texas toast recommended
8 slices cheddar cheese or American cheese for a classic touch
1 small onion, finely diced
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
Pickles optional, for added crunch
Directions:
Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set on paper towels to drain.
In the same skillet, cook the diced onions until soft and translucent. Add ground beef, garlic powder, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and mustard. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium heat.
Butter one side of each bread slice. Place one slice, buttered side down, onto the skillet.
Layer with a slice of cheddar cheese, a generous scoop of the cooked beef mixture, crispy bacon, and another slice of cheese. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
Grill each sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
Serve hot, optionally with pickles on the side for extra crunch.
