Philly Cheesesteak Sliders
Ingredients
1 lb thinly sliced ribeye steak or sirloin
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1 bell pepper, thinly sliced any color
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon garlic powder optional
12 slider buns Hawaiian or dinner rolls work well
8 oz provolone cheese sliced or shredded
2 tablespoons mayonnaise optional
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C.
Cook the Steak:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper. Sauté until softened, about 4-5 minutes.
Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned and cooked through.
Prepare the Buns:
Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping them connected. Place the bottom half in a greased baking dish.
Assemble the Sliders:
Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the bottom half of the buns if using.
Layer the cooked steak and vegetable mixture evenly over the buns.
Top with provolone cheese slices.
Add the Top Buns:
Place the top half of the buns over the cheese.
Bake:
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden.
Serve:
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Slice into individual sliders and serve warm.
Tips:
You can customize the filling by adding mushrooms or other veggies.
For an extra touch, brush the tops of the buns with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder before baking.
