Meat Lovers Pizza Casserole
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb Italian sausage, crumbled
1/2 lb pepperoni, sliced
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 jar 24 oz pizza sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
12 oz cooked pasta penne or rotini work well
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Cook the meats: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Sauté the veggies: Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the meat and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the sauce: Pour in the pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir to combine, bring to a simmer, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Combine with pasta: Preheat your oven to 375F 190C. In a large bowl, mix the cooked pasta with the meat sauce. Stir in mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses.
Bake the casserole: Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with additional mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
Finish baking: Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve: Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with a side of garlic bread or salad!
