BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup BBQ sauce plus more for drizzling
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup pickles, chopped
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup frozen French fries or tater tots
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375F 190C.
Cook the ground beef: In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat and set aside.
Sauté the veggies: In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Mix the sauce: Stir in the BBQ sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to combine.
Layer the casserole: In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer the cooked beef mixture, followed by a sprinkle of crumbled bacon, pickles, and a mix of mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
Top with fries: Place the frozen French fries or tater tots on top of the beef mixture.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the fries are crispy and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve: Drizzle extra BBQ sauce over the casserole before serving. Enjoy this hearty, cheesy, and smoky dish!
