Korean Fried Chicken: Crispy, Savory, and Irresistible!
Ingredients:
– 1 kg chicken wings or drumsticks
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1/2 cup cornstarch
– 1 tsp baking powder
– 1 tsp salt
– 1/2 tsp black pepper
– 1/2 cup milk
– 2 eggs
– Vegetable oil for frying
For the Sauce:
– 1/4 cup gochujang Korean chili paste
– 2 tbsp soy sauce
– 2 tbsp honey
– 2 tbsp brown sugar
– 1 tbsp rice vinegar
– 1 tbsp sesame oil
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tsp grated ginger
Instructions:
1 In a large bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and pepper. In a separate bowl, whisk milk and eggs.
2 Dip the chicken into the wet mixture, then coat in the dry mixture. Repeat for an extra crispy layer!
3 Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350F 175C. Fry chicken in batches until golden and cooked through. Set aside on a paper towel.
4 In a pan, combine sauce ingredients. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
5 Toss fried chicken in the sauce, ensuring every piece is coated.
6 Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
