Juicy Ribeye Steak with Buttery Caramelized Onions & Crispy Fries

Ingredients:

For the Ribeye:

2 ribeye steaks 1-inch thick

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp salt

tsp black pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tbsp butter for serving

For the Caramelized Onions:

2 large onions, thinly sliced

2 tbsp butter

1 tsp brown sugar

tsp salt

cup beef broth or water


For the French Fries:

3 large russet potatoes, cut into fries

2 tbsp olive oil

tsp salt

tsp paprika

tsp black pepper

Directions:

Prepare the Caramelized Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and add the sliced onions. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, for 10-15 minutes. Add brown sugar and salt, then pour in beef broth and let simmer until onions are deeply golden. Set aside.

Prepare the French Fries: Preheat the oven to 425F 220C. Toss the cut potatoes with olive oil, salt, paprika, and black pepper. Spread them on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.

Grill the Ribeye: Preheat the grill or a cast-iron skillet over high heat. Brush the steaks with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.

Cook the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare adjust cooking time for desired doneness. Remove from heat and top with a pat of butter. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Serve the grilled ribeye with caramelized onions on top and crispy French fries on the side. Enjoy!
