Festive Peppermint Snowball Bites
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar, plus extra for dusting
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
Directions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
Add Peppermint Flavor: Add the peppermint extract and salt to the creamed mixture, stirring until fully incorporated.
Form the Dough: Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms. Gently fold in the crushed peppermint candies to evenly distribute throughout the dough.
Shape the Cookies: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each ball.
Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cookies are set but not browned. The bottoms should be lightly golden.
Dust with Sugar: Allow the cookies to cool slightly, then roll them in extra powdered sugar to create a snowball effect. Dust again if desired once fully cooled.
