Creamy Ground Beef Alfredo Pasta
Ingredients:
For the pasta:
12 oz fettuccine or penne pasta
1 tablespoon salt for boiling water
For the beef sauce:
1 lb ground beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, finely diced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes optional, for a little heat
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Alfredo sauce:
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg optional, for added depth
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For garnish:
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Extra grated Parmesan cheese optional
Directions:
Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
Cook the ground beef: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary. Add the garlic, onion, Italian seasoning, and chili flakes, and sauté until fragrant and the onions are soft, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
Make the Alfredo sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the heavy cream and cook until warmed through, about 2-3 minutes. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly, until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Add the nutmeg and black pepper for extra flavor.
Combine the pasta, beef, and sauce: Add the cooked pasta and ground beef to the Alfredo sauce. Toss to coat everything evenly, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
Serve: Plate the pasta and garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy the creamy goodness!
