Classic Steak and Eggs Breakfast Plate
Ingredients:
2 6 oz ribeye steaks or sirloin steaks
4 large eggs
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon salt divided
1/2 teaspoon black pepper divided
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Optional: hot sauce or steak sauce for serving
Directions:
Prepare the Steaks: Season both sides of the steaks with garlic powder, smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Let the steaks rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
Cook the Steaks: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and sear for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust cooking time to your preferred doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet, cover loosely with foil, and let them rest while preparing the eggs.
Cook the Eggs: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add butter. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook to your desired doneness sunny-side-up, over-easy, or scrambled. Sprinkle the eggs with the remaining salt and black pepper.
Assemble and Serve: Plate the steaks and eggs together. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with your choice of hot sauce or steak sauce on the side.
