Violet Margarita
Ingredients:
2 ounces tequila preferably silver or blanco for a smoother taste
1 ounce lime juice freshly squeezed
1/2 ounce crème de violette for a lovely violet flavor and color
1/2 ounce simple syrup to sweeten
Optional: Salt or sugar for rimming the glass
Optional: A slice of lime or edible violet flowers for garnish
Directions:
Prepare the Glass:
If desired, rim your glass with salt or sugar. To do this, rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and dip it into a plate of salt or sugar.
Mix the Drink:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
Pour in the tequila, lime juice, crème de violette, and simple syrup.
Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
Serve:
Strain the mixture into the prepared glass.
Serve over fresh ice or in a chilled glass for a straight up margarita.
Garnish & Enjoy:
Add a lime slice to the rim or float an edible violet flower on top for an elegant touch.
