Turkey and Yam Spicy Tacos
Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey
1 medium yam sweet potato, peeled and diced
1 small onion, chopped
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
8 small tortillas
1/2 cup shredded cheese optional
1 cup shredded lettuce
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Hot sauce or salsa for serving
Instructions:
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the ground turkey until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add diced yam and onion. Cook for 8-10 minutes until the yam is tender.
Return the turkey to the skillet and stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Warm the tortillas in a separate pan or microwave.
Assemble tacos with turkey and yam filling, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese optional, and cilantro.
Add hot sauce or salsa for an extra kick and serve!
