Tender Chicken Tortilla Wraps with Rich,

Tender Chicken Tortilla Wraps with Rich, Creamy Cheese Sauce

Ingredients:

2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

cup shredded cheddar cheese for garnish

4 large tortillas

For the Creamy Cheese Sauce:

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 cup milk

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

cup shredded cheddar cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

Cook the Chicken:

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the diced chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Creamy Cheese Sauce:

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Whisk in the flour and cook for another 1-2 minutes to form a roux. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring frequently until the sauce thickens about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assemble the Wraps:

Preheat the oven to 375F 190C. Lay the tortillas flat and evenly distribute the cooked chicken among them. Roll up each tortilla tightly and place them seam-side down in a baking dish. Pour the creamy cheese sauce generously over the top.

Bake the Wraps:

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden. Remove from the oven and garnish with additional shredded cheddar cheese if desired.

Serve:

Allow the wraps to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy these cheesy, creamy wraps with a side salad or roasted vegetables.
