柳 Directions 柳
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
Cream together the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the flour mixture. Fold in the chopped pecans.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
For the frosting, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and milk, bringing it to a boil. Remove from heat and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until the frosting is smooth.
Assemble the Cake: Once the cakes have cooled completely, spread the caramel frosting between the layers and generously on top and around the sides. Garnish with whole pecans for an extra touch.
