Red Wine & Herb Butter Beef Tenderloin Roast
This tenderloin is enhanced with a red wine and herb butter mixture, giving it an elevated and sophisticated flavor perfect for special occasions.
Ingredients:
2 lb beef tenderloin roast
Salt and pepper to taste
4 tablespoons herb butter mix of butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup red wine
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
Fresh thyme and rosemary sprigs for garnish
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 425F 220C.
Prepare the Roast:
Season the tenderloin generously with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear the beef tenderloin on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Add Herb Butter and Red Wine:
Brush the tenderloin with Dijon mustard.
Add the herb butter on top and pour the red wine over the tenderloin.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for 25-30 minutes for medium-rare or until desired doneness is achieved.
Rest and Serve:
Remove the tenderloin from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh rosemary and thyme sprigs and serve.
