Old-Fashioned Goulash

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can 15 oz tomato sauce

1 can 15 oz diced tomatoes, undrained

1 cup beef broth

1 cup elbow macaroni, uncooked

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper


1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Directions:

In a large skillet or pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.

Add diced onions and garlic, sautéing until softened and fragrant.

Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Add the uncooked elbow macaroni, stirring to combine. Cover and let cook for about 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.

If using, stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and combined.

Remove from heat and let sit for a couple of minutes to thicken. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
