Homemade Peppermint Patties Ingredients: cup sweetened

Homemade Peppermint Patties

Ingredients:

cup sweetened condensed milk

1 teaspoons peppermint extract

4 cups confectioners sugar

1 pound chocolate almond bark

Sprinkles optional, for decoration

Directions:

Prepare the Baking Sheet:

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper and set it aside. Make sure theres enough room in your freezer to fit the tray.

Make the Peppermint Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and peppermint extract. Using an electric mixer, gradually add the confectioners sugar, mixing until you achieve a stiff dough thats not sticky.

Shape the Patties:

Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them onto the lined tray. Gently flatten each ball into a thick disc shape.

Chill the Patties:

Place the tray in the freezer and allow the peppermint patties to chill for 1 hour, or until firm.

Melt the Chocolate:

When youre ready to dip, melt the almond bark in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each session until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.

Dip the Patties:

Working quickly, dip each chilled peppermint patty into the melted chocolate. Gently shake off any excess chocolate or scrape the bottom of the patty against the side of the bowl to remove excess.

Decorate and Set:

Place the dipped patties back onto the lined baking sheet. If desired, immediately top with sprinkles for a festive touch.

Allow to Set:

Let the chocolate on the peppermint patties set completely at room temperature, or place them back in the freezer for quicker setting.

Serve and Enjoy:

Once the chocolate is fully set, enjoy these minty, chocolatey treats! Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
