2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter softened
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips
12 squares of dark or milk chocolate for stuffing
Instructions:
1 Prepare the dough:
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, and then stir in vanilla extract.
Gradually mix in the dry ingredients and fold in the chocolate chips.
2 Assemble the cookies:
Scoop out about 2 tablespoons of dough and flatten it in your hand.
Place a square of chocolate in the center, then fold the dough around it, sealing the edges.
3 Chill the dough:
Place the stuffed cookie dough balls on a baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
4 Bake the cookies:
Preheat the oven to 350F 175C. Bake the cookies for 12-14 minutes or until the edges are golden and the centers are soft.
5 Serve warm:
Let the cookies cool for a few minutes before serving to enjoy the gooey, melted chocolate center!
