Easy Fried Morel Mushrooms
Ingredients:
1 lb fresh morel mushrooms, cleaned and halved1/2 cup all-purpose flour1/2 cup cornmeal1 tsp salt1/2 tsp black pepper1/2 tsp garlic powder optional1/4 cup milk1 large eggVegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
In a shallow bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg.Dip each morel mushroom half into the milk mixture, then coat in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to ensure an even coating.Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.Fry the morels in batches for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden and crispy.Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
