Deep Hamburger Sausage & Pepperoni Pie

Ingredients:

1 box Pillsbury ready-to-bake pie crust 2 rolled pie crusts

For the Filling:

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 pound ground beef

1/2 pound Italian sausage optional

1 cup pepperoni slices

1 1/2 cups pizza sauce or marinara

1 cup shredded cheddar or provolone cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

3 tablespoons melted butter for brushing the top crust

Instructions:

Prepare the Filling:

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage until browned. Drain any excess fat and set aside.

Preheat the Oven:


Preheat your oven to 425F 220C.

Assemble the Pizza Pie:

Roll out one of the pie crusts and fit it into a deep-dish pie pan or a deep skillet. Layer the bottom with half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.

Add Meat and Toppings:

Add an even layer of the cooked ground beef, Italian sausage, and pepperoni slices over the cheese. Pour the pizza sauce or marinara evenly over the meat, then sprinkle with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.

Add Remaining Cheese and Pepperoni:

Top with the remaining mozzarella and cheddar or provolone cheese, followed by an additional layer of pepperoni slices.

Add the Top Crust:

Place the second pie crust over the top, sealing the edges with the bottom crust. Brush the top crust with the melted butter and sprinkle lightly with additional garlic powder if desired.

Bake:

Place the assembled pie in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve:

Let the pie cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
