Christmas Frozen-Inspired Candy Apples
Ingredients:
4 medium-sized apples
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup water
cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
Colorful sprinkles or crushed candy canes for topping
Directions:
Prepare the Apples
Clean each apple thoroughly and dry them well. Insert a wooden skewer into the stem end of each apple.
Make the Candy Mixture
In a saucepan, combine the sugar, water, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Boil the Mixture
Allow the mixture to boil without stirring until it reaches the hard crack stage or a temperature of about 300F 150C.
Dip the Apples
Once the candy mixture is at the correct temperature, carefully dip each apple into the hot candy, ensuring an even coating all around.
Add Decorations
While the candy coating is still hot and sticky, quickly sprinkle colorful toppings like sprinkles or crushed candy canes over the apples.
Cool the Apples
Place the coated apples on a tray lined with parchment paper and let them sit until the candy coating is completely hardened.
