Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp almond extract

1/4 cup colorful sprinkles or sugar crystals optional


Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350F 175C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until combined.

Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the baking sheet. Gently flatten each ball with the back of a spoon.

Optional: sprinkle with colorful sugar or sprinkles for a festive touch.

Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
