Black Forest Cake

A classic German dessert featuring layers of moist chocolate cake, luscious cherry pie filling, whipped cream, and chocolate shavings. Perfect for any special occasion or whenever youre craving a rich, fruity, and chocolatey treat!

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups granulated sugar

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda 籠

1 tsp salt 蓼

2 large eggs 讀

1 cup milk 拏

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup boiling water

1 can cherry pie filling


Whipped cream

Chocolate shavings

Instructions:

1 Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2 Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3 Add Wet Ingredients: Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

4 Add Boiling Water: Stir in the boiling water slowly until the batter becomes smooth. The batter will be thin, but thats okay!

5 Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6 Cool: Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

7 Assemble the Cake: Once the cakes are cooled, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the top.

8 Layer and Frost: Place the second cake layer on top, then cover the entire cake with whipped cream, making sure to frost the top and sides generously.

9 Decorate: Garnish the cake with chocolate shavings and extra cherry pie filling for a beautiful and delicious finish.

Chill and Serve: Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving to let all the flavors meld together.
