Pepper Steak in a Crock Pot

Ingredients:

1 lbs beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 yellow bell pepper, sliced

1 onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes, undrained

cup beef broth

cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon black pepper

teaspoon salt


teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water for thickening

Cooked rice, for serving

Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish optional

Directions:

Prepare the Beef: Place thinly sliced beef in the crock pot.

Add Vegetables: Layer the sliced bell peppers, onion, and garlic on top of the beef.

Make the Sauce: In a bowl, mix diced tomatoes, beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes. Pour over the beef and vegetables.

Slow Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours until the beef is tender.

Thicken the Sauce: In the last 30 minutes of cooking, mix cornstarch and water, then stir into the crock pot. Let it cook until the sauce thickens.

Serve: Spoon the pepper steak over cooked rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
