Ingredients:

1 3/4 cups 220 g all-purpose flour

1/2 cup 45 g cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

3/4 cup 150 g sugar

1/2 cup 120 ml vegetable oil

2 large eggs

1/2 cup 120 ml freshly squeezed orange juice

1/4 cup 60 ml whole milk

Zest of 2 oranges

For the Chocolate Ganache:

4 oz 120 g dark chocolate, chopped

1/4 cup 60 ml heavy cream

For Decoration:

Orange slices

Dark chocolate chunks or shavings


Instructions:

1 Prepare the Cake Batter:

Preheat the oven to 350F 175C. Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In another bowl, whisk together sugar, oil, eggs, orange juice, milk, and orange zest until smooth.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

2 Bake:

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 4550 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer, then pour it over the chopped chocolate.

Let it sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.
