Herb-Crusted Beef Medallions with Gravy Recipe 數
Ingredients:
For the beef:
6 beef medallions filet or tenderloin cuts
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp fresh thyme leaves
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
For the gravy:
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups beef stock
1/4 cup red wine optional
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
For the mashed potatoes:
4 large potatoes peeled and cubed
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp unsalted butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1 Prepare the beef:
Season the beef medallions with salt, pepper, and fresh thyme leaves.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the medallions for 3-4 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest.
2 Make the gravy:
In the same skillet, melt butter and whisk in flour to create a roux.
Slowly pour in beef stock and red wine, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
Stir in Worcestershire sauce and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
3 Prepare the mashed potatoes:
Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender about 15 minutes. Drain and mash with butter and cream. Season with salt and pepper.
4 Assemble the dish:
Plate the mashed potatoes, top with beef medallions, and drizzle generously with the gravy. Garnish with additional thyme if desired.
5 Serve and enjoy:
