The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract optional
1/4 tsp salt
Sprinkles or colored sugar optional
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375F 190C. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the egg and extracts and mix well.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
Place cookies on the prepared baking sheets, sprinkle with colored sugar or sprinkles, and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are golden.
Let cookies cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Perfectly sweet, soft, and crispy! Enjoy with a glass of milk.
