Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup cornstarch

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:


Preheat the oven to 325F 163C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, and salt. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, beat together butter and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Add vanilla extract and mix well.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until the dough comes together.

Roll the dough out onto a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter to shape the cookies.

Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Allow cookies to cool completely on the sheet before transferring them to a wire rack.
