Layered Smores Bar Dessert
A deliciously indulgent treat featuring a graham cracker crust, rich chocolate, and gooey marshmallow cream, perfect for satisfying your smores cravings without the campfire!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 jar marshmallow creme
1 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
1 Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
2 Cream the Butter and Sugar:
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
3 Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
4 Assemble the Layers:
Divide the dough in half. Press one half into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust. Spread the marshmallow creme evenly over the crust using a greased spatula. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the marshmallow layer.
5 Create the Top Layer:
Flatten the remaining dough into small pieces and arrange them over the chocolate chips, creating the top crust.
6 Bake:
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Allow the bars to cool in the pan before slicing.
