Butterfinger Balls
Ingredients:
2 cups crushed Butterfinger candy bars about 16 fun-sized bars
8 oz cream cheese, softened
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon vegetable shortening optional, for smoother dipping
Optional: Butterfinger or chocolate sprinkles for decoration
Directions:
Prepare the Mixture:
In a large bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese and crushed Butterfinger pieces until fully combined and smooth.
Form the Balls:
Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper.
Refrigerate the balls for at least 30 minutes to firm them up for easier dipping.
Melt the Chocolate:
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and vegetable shortening if using in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.
Dip the Butterfinger Balls:
Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled ball into the melted chocolate, letting any excess drip off before placing it back on the parchment paper.
Set and Decorate:
While the chocolate is still wet, add sprinkles if desired.
Allow the Butterfinger balls to set at room temperature or in the refrigerator until the chocolate coating is firm.
Tips:
For a consistent texture, finely crush the Butterfinger bars before mixing.
Refrigerate the balls before dipping to make the chocolate coating process easier.
