Decadent Cherry Chocolate Chunk Brownies

Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup dark chocolate chunks
1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and halved
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
Make the Butter Mixture:
In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Incorporate the Eggs and Vanilla:
Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
Add the Chocolate and Cherries:
Fold in the dark chocolate chunks and pitted cherries, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.
Prepare for Baking:

Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs not wet batter.
