Snowflake Pasta in Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce
Ingredients
For the Pasta:
2 cups snowflake-shaped pasta
1 tablespoon salt for boiling water
For the Sauce:
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
teaspoon Italian seasoning
teaspoon ground nutmeg optional, for added warmth
Salt and pepper to taste
cup frozen peas optional, for color and flavor
Garnish:
Fresh parsley, finely chopped
Additional grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Add the snowflake-shaped pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
Reserve cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Creamy Sauce
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and nutmeg. Let the sauce simmer for 35 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
Step 3: Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked snowflake-shaped pasta to the skillet with the sauce.
Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add the reserved pasta cooking water a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
Optional Stir in frozen peas and cook for an additional 2 minutes, until the peas are heated through.
Step 4: Serve
Divide the pasta among serving plates or bowls.
Garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese.
Serve warm and enjoy your festive snowflake pasta!
