Ingredients:

For the Steak:

1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp unsalted butter

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

tsp smoked paprika

tsp salt

tsp black pepper

For the Caramelized Onions:

1 large onion, thinly sliced

1 tbsp butter

1 tsp sugar

tsp salt

For the Garlic Aioli:

cup mayonnaise

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp lemon juice

tsp Dijon mustard

Salt and black pepper to taste


For the Sandwich:

4 hoagie rolls or baguettes, toasted

4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese

Fresh arugula or lettuce

Pickles optional

Directions:

Make the Garlic Aioli:

In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Set aside.

Caramelize the Onions:

Heat butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add sliced onions, sugar, and salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 15-20 minutes until golden and caramelized.

Cook the Ribeye:

Season the thinly sliced ribeye with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until browned and juicy.

Assemble the Sandwich:

Toast the hoagie rolls and spread garlic aioli on both sides.

Layer fresh arugula, the cooked ribeye steak, and caramelized onions.

Top with a slice of provolone or Swiss cheese and let it melt slightly.

Add pickles if desired, close the sandwich, and serve warm.
