Ingredients:

Rice Krispie Treat Cupcakes:

4 tbsp unsalted butter

1 10 oz bag mini marshmallows

6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

1 tsp vanilla extract

Red and pink sprinkles optional

Vanilla Icing:

cup unsalted butter, softened

cup shortening

4 cups powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

3-4 tbsp water adjust for consistency

Pink or red food coloring optional

Gummy candy hearts, for topping

Directions:


Make the Rice Krispie Treats:

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.

Add the mini marshmallows, stirring continuously until fully melted and smooth.

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Add the Rice Krispies cereal and mix until evenly coated.

Shape into Cupcakes:

Grease a muffin tin with nonstick spray.

Scoop the warm Rice Krispie mixture into each cup, pressing gently to mold them into cupcake shapes.

Let them cool and firm up for about 30 minutes.
