Texas Trash Dip
Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese, cubed
1 cup sour cream
1 16-ounce can refried beans
1 4.5-ounce can chopped green chiles
1 package taco seasoning mix about 24 grams
4 cups shredded Tex-Mex cheese blend, divided
Chopped parsley or cilantro, for garnish
Chopped or sliced jalapeños, for garnish
Sliced olives, for garnish
Chopped tomatoes, for garnish
Directions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
Melt the Cream Cheese: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the cubed cream cheese. Stir continuously until the cream cheese is soft and nearly melted.
Combine Ingredients: Add the sour cream, refried beans, chopped green chiles, taco seasoning, and half of the shredded Tex-Mex cheese blend to the skillet. Stir everything together until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into the prepared 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining Tex-Mex cheese blend over the top.
Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese on top is melted and bubbly.
Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and add your preferred garnishes, such as chopped parsley or cilantro, jalapeños, olives, and chopped tomatoes. Serve hot with corn chips for dipping.
Tips:
Customize the toppings! Add avocado, green onions, or even a dollop of sour cream for an extra layer of flavor.
This dip can be reheated in the oven or microwave if serving at different times.
