Sparkling Holiday Star Cookies
Ingredients:
For the Cookies:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder 療
1/4 teaspoon salt 蓼
1 cup unsalted butter softened 杻
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg 讀
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Holiday sprinkles or colored sugar for decoration
Edible glitter optional
Instructions:
Make the Cookie Dough:
Preheat the oven to 350F 175C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Mix the dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. 蓼
Cream the butter and sugar: In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. 杻
Add the egg and vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. 讀
Combine the dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. The dough should be soft and easy to work with.
Roll and Cut the Cookies:
Roll out the dough: Divide the dough into two portions. Roll out one portion on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut out the star shapes: Using a star-shaped cookie cutter, cut out cookies and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
Chill the dough: To prevent the cookies from spreading, refrigerate the cut-out cookies for 10-15 minutes before baking.
Bake the Cookies:
Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Cool the cookies: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Decorate the Cookies:
Decorate with sprinkles: Once the cookies are completely cool, lightly brush them with water or a little edible syrup and sprinkle with holiday sprinkles, colored sugar, or a touch of edible glitter for that festive sparkle!
