Russian Witch cocktail
Ingredients:
For the drink:
1 shot 1 oz espresso or strong brewed coffee
cup milk whole milk, oat milk, or coconut milk
teaspoon matcha powder
2 tablespoons hot water
1 tablespoon honey or vanilla syrup
1 ounces vodka vanilla or caramel-flavored vodka for extra depth
cup heavy cream or coconut cream for the white layer
For the whipped topping:
cup whipping cream
1 teaspoon brown sugar or caramel syrup
teaspoon vanilla extract
Splash of coffee liqueur optional, for extra richness
For garnish:
A drizzle of caramel or coffee syrup
A sprinkle of matcha powder
Coffee beans optional
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Matcha Layer
In a small bowl, whisk the matcha powder with hot water until fully dissolved and frothy.
Stir in honey or vanilla syrup for a touch of sweetness.
Step 2: Prepare the Coffee-Vodka Layer
Brew a strong shot of espresso or concentrated coffee and let it cool slightly.
In a cocktail shaker, add espresso, vodka, and ice. Shake well to chill.
Pour this coffee-vodka mixture into the bottom of a serving glass.
Step 3: Create the Milk Layer
Gently warm the milk optional and slowly pour it over the coffee layer using the back of a spoon to keep the layers distinct.
Step 4: Add the Matcha Layer
Carefully pour the matcha mixture over the milk layer to create the vibrant green effect.
Step 5: Prepare the Whipped Topping
In a small bowl, whisk together whipping cream, brown sugar or caramel syrup, vanilla extract, and a splash of coffee liqueur if using until soft peaks form.
Spoon or pipe the whipped topping over the drink.
Step 6: Garnish & Serve
Drizzle with caramel or coffee syrup and sprinkle a bit of matcha powder on top for a stunning finish.
