Pavlova Christmas Tree with Fresh Fruits
Ingredients:
– 6 large egg whites
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1 tablespoon cornstarch
– 1 teaspoon white vinegar
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– Mixed fresh fruits kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, pomegranate seeds for decoration
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 250F 120C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and draw a tree shape if desired, to guide meringue layers.
2. In a clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites on medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while beating on high speed until the mixture is glossy and stiff peaks form.
3. Gently fold in cornstarch and vinegar until just combined. This will give the meringue its signature crispiness.
4. Spoon the meringue mixture onto the prepared parchment paper, forming layers in the shape of a Christmas tree. Aim for about 4-5 layers, starting from a larger base to a smaller top.
5. Bake the meringue layers in the preheated oven for 1 hour. Once finished, turn off the oven and let the meringues cool completely inside, about 1 hour.
6. While the meringues are cooling, prepare the whipped cream. In a bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
7. Once cooled, layer the meringue pieces with whipped cream in between each layer, building your tree. You can use any leftover whipped cream to frost the outside.
8. Decorate your Pavlova Christmas Tree with a colorful array of fresh fruits, arranging them beautifully on top and around the layers.
9. Slice and serve this stunning Christmas dessert filled with holiday cheer!
