Oven-Fried Feta Rolls with Chili Honey
These crispy, golden phyllo rolls are filled with a creamy feta and ricotta blend and paired with a sweet and spicy chili honey drizzle. Perfect as an appetizer or snack, theyre an easy yet elegant treat!
Ingredients:
For the Feta Rolls:
8 oz feta cheese, crumbled
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves optional
6 sheets phyllo pastry, cut in half making 12 sheets
1/4 cup melted butter or olive oil for brushing
For the Chili Honey:
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
Instructions:
Prep the Filling:
In a medium bowl, mix together the crumbled feta, ricotta, and thyme leaves until smooth and well combined.
Assemble the Rolls:
Preheat your oven to 400F 200C. Lay a half-sheet of phyllo pastry on a clean work surface and brush it lightly with melted butter or olive oil.
Place a tablespoon of the cheese filling near one end of the phyllo sheet. Fold in the sides and roll up tightly, forming a neat roll.
Repeat with the remaining phyllo sheets and filling, brushing each with butter or oil to ensure a crispy finish.
Bake the Rolls:
Arrange the assembled rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and crispy.
Make the Chili Honey:
In a small saucepan, warm the honey over low heat. Stir in the red chili flakes and let it infuse for a minute or two. Remove from heat.
Finish and Serve:
Drizzle the warm chili honey over the baked feta rolls or serve it on the side as a dipping sauce. Garnish with additional fresh thyme leaves if desired, and enjoy the rolls warm!
