Orange Creamsicle Truffles with Dark/Milk Chocolate

Orange Creamsicle Truffles with Dark/Milk Chocolate Shell

Ingredients:

For the Filling:

1 cup white chocolate chips

1 tablespoon orange zest

cup unsalted butter

3 tablespoons heavy cream

teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

For the Coating:

1 cup dark or milk chocolate chips melted

Optional: 1 tablespoon coconut oil to thin the chocolate for dipping

For Garnish:

Orange zest

White or gold sprinkles optional

Instructions:

Prepare the Filling:

Melt the white chocolate chips, butter, and heavy cream together in a heatproof bowl over a double boiler or microwave in 15-second intervals. Stir until smooth and fully combined.

Stir in the orange zest, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix well to distribute the flavors evenly.

Chill the Mixture:

Let the filling mixture cool slightly, then refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm enough to shape.

Shape the Truffles:

Scoop out small portions of the chilled mixture and roll them into balls using your hands. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Prepare the Chocolate Coating:

Melt the dark or milk chocolate chips with the optional coconut oil in a heatproof bowl over a double boiler or microwave in short intervals. Stir until smooth and glossy. Let it cool slightly to avoid melting the truffle filling when dipping.

Dip the Truffles:

Using a fork, dip each truffle ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Tap off the excess chocolate and place the coated truffles back on the parchment-lined sheet.

Garnish:

While the chocolate coating is still wet, sprinkle the truffles with orange zest or white/gold sprinkles for an elegant finish.

Set and Serve:

Allow the truffles to set at room temperature or in the refrigerator until the chocolate shell hardens. Serve these delectable bites at room temperature to enjoy their creamy, citrusy filling contrasted with the rich chocolate shell.
