Ingredients:

– 3/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1/4 cup cocoa powder

– 1 cup all-purpose flour

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 2 teaspoons baking powder

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 1/2 cup milk

– 1/4 cup melted butter

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


– 1 3/4 cups hot water

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350F 175C.

2. In a mixing bowl, blend together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until thoroughly mixed.

3. To the dry ingredients, add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until the batter is smooth and well combined.

4. Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch square baking dish, spreading it evenly to cover the bottom.

5. In a separate bowl, combine the brown sugar and the remaining cocoa powder. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the surface of the cake batter.
