Honeycrisp Apple Sangria!
Ingredients:
3 cinnamon sticks
2 Honeycrisp apples, chopped
1 orange, thinly sliced
1 750 ml bottle red wine light-bodied Spanish variety recommended
1 cups apple cider
cup brandy
cup orange juice
Juice from 1 lemon
Club soda, to taste
Cinnamon-sugar mixture, for rimming optional
Instructions:
In a large pitcher, combine cinnamon sticks, chopped apples, and orange slices.
Pour in the red wine, apple cider, brandy, orange juice, and lemon juice.
Stir the mixture well to combine all ingredients.
Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or up to 24 hours, to allow flavors to meld.
Before serving, taste the sangria; if a sweeter flavor is desired, add 12 tablespoons of granulated sugar, honey, or agave, and stir until dissolved.
For a cinnamon-sugar rim optional: moisten the rim of each glass with water, then dip into a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
Fill each glass with the sangria, including some of the fruit pieces.
Top off each glass with a splash of club soda for added fizz.
Garnish with a cinnamon stick, if desired, and serve immediately.
Enjoy this delightful fall-inspired sangria!
