Honey Bun Cookies
These Honey Bun Cookies are soft, buttery, and infused with a cinnamon-sugar swirl, finished with a sweet glaze that brings the taste of classic honey buns to each chewy bite!
Ingredients:
For the Cookie Dough:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened 杻
1 cup granulated sugar
cup light brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs 讀
1 tbsp honey
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder 療
tsp baking soda 籠
tsp salt 蓼
For the Cinnamon-Sugar Swirl:
cup light brown sugar, packed
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
For the Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2-3 tbsp milk 拏 add more if needed for consistency
tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
1 Prepare the Cookie Dough:
In a large bowl, beat together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then mix in honey and vanilla extract until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
2 Shape the Cookies:
In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
Scoop about 1 tablespoons of dough, flatten slightly, and sprinkle a little cinnamon-sugar mixture in the center.
Roll the dough into a ball, then gently flatten into a disk shape. For a swirl effect, roll the edges inward to create a spiral pattern.
3 Bake the Cookies:
Preheat oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the shaped cookies on the baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
4 Make the Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies in a spiral pattern for that classic honey bun look.
