Gingerbread Snowballs Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup 226g unsalted butter, softened
cup 57g powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
tsp ground nutmeg
tsp ground allspice
tsp ground cloves
1 tbsp molasses
2 cups 279g all-purpose flour
Extra powdered sugar for rolling
Directions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat oven to 350F 175C. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Mix the Dough:
Using an electric mixer, cream softened butter until light and fluffy.
Add powdered sugar, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, and molasses. Mix until smooth.
Gradually add flour in portions, mixing thoroughly after each addition until the dough forms.
Form the Cookies:
Scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough for each cookie. Roll into balls and place them evenly on prepared cookie sheets, leaving 1 inch of space between each.
Bake:
Bake for 1012 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Aim for a soft, chewy center by avoiding overbaking.
Coat in Powdered Sugar:
Cool cookies slightly for 12 minutes. While warm, roll them gently in powdered sugar to coat.
Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Optionally, roll in powdered sugar again for an extra snowy effect once cooled.
Enjoy!
These melt-in-your-mouth cookies pair beautifully with tea, coffee, or hot cocoaperfect for a cozy holiday treat!
