Decadent Chocolate Caramel Pecan Cake
Ingredients:
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 cup chopped pecans
– 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 3 large eggs
– 1 cup buttermilk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.
3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
4. Mix in the vanilla extract and buttermilk until combined.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chopped pecans.
6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.
7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
8. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.
9. Once cooled, drizzle caramel sauce between the layers and on top of the cake for a luscious finish. Garnish with additional pecans if desired.
10. Slice, serve, and enjoy your decadent creation!
