Cinnamon Baked Doughnuts
Ingredients:
For the Doughnuts:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 large egg
1 1/4 cups milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Directions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and lightly grease a doughnut pan.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg.
Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Prepare the Doughnut Batter: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter should be slightly lumpy.
Fill the Doughnut Pan: Spoon or pipe the batter into the prepared doughnut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
Bake the Doughnuts: Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the doughnuts are golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow the doughnuts to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Coating: While the doughnuts are cooling, mix together the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Melt the butter in a separate bowl.
Coat the Doughnuts: Dip each warm doughnut into the melted butter, then coat it with the cinnamon sugar mixture, ensuring an even coating all around.
