Ingredients:

– 1 cup unsalted butter

– 1 cup all-purpose flour

– 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

– 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet or dark

– 4 large eggs

– 2 cups granulated sugar

– tsp salt

– 1 tsp vanilla extract

– 1 tsp baking powder

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions:

1. Begin by preheating your oven to 350F 175C. Prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan by greasing it with butter and dusting it with flour to prevent sticking.

2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter completely. Once melted, take it off the heat and mix in the granulated sugar until well combined.

3. Add the eggs to the butter-sugar mixture one at a time, ensuring that each egg is mixed thoroughly before adding the next. Follow with the vanilla extract, stirring to blend everything together.

4. In a separate bowl, sift the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually incorporate this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing gently just until no flour streaks remain.

5. Fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the batter. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top outward.

6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out with a few moist crumbs attached. Once baked, allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.

7. For the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until its just about to simmerbe sure not to let it boil! Remove from heat and pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Let it stand for 2-3 minutes before stirring until smooth and glossy.

8. Carefully pour the warm ganache over the cooled brownie cake, using a spatula to spread it evenly across the top. Let the ganache sit at room temperature to set for a softer texture or refrigerate for a firmer finish.

9. Once set, slice your cake into squares or rectangles. For a thoughtful touch, serve each piece with a dollop of whipped cream, fresh berries, or a light dusting of powdered sugar.
