Cheesy Meatballs in Tomato Sauce
Ingredients:
500g ground beef or lamb
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 cups tomato sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Meatballs:
In a bowl, mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, parmesan cheese, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Form into medium-sized meatballs.
2. Cook the Meatballs:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.
3. Make the Sauce:
In the same skillet, pour in the tomato sauce and simmer for 5 minutes. Return the meatballs to the skillet and spoon sauce over them.
4. Add the Cheese:
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the meatballs. Cover the skillet and let cook on low heat until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
5. Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with pasta, rice, or crusty bread.
