Caramel Brownies From Scratch
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup caramel sauce homemade or store-bought
Sea salt for sprinkling
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar, mixing until well combined.
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring an even distribution.
Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing it out evenly.
Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the brownie layer. Pour the remaining brownie batter on top, spreading it evenly.
Drizzle the rest of the caramel sauce over the top layer and use a knife to create swirls in the batter.
Sprinkle sea salt on top and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares.
