Butter Pecan Donuts Recipe
These Butter Pecan Donuts are soft, spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, and topped with a rich butter pecan glaze. Perfect for a cozy morning treat or a delightful snack!
Ingredients:
For the Donuts:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled 杻
1/2 cup buttermilk 拏
1 large egg 讀
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
For the Butter Pecan Glaze:
1/2 cup unsalted butter 杻
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp heavy cream 拏
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Additional chopped pecans for garnish optional
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the Oven and Pan
1 Preheat your oven to 350F 175C.
2 Lightly grease a donut pan or spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 2: Make the Donut Batter
1 In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
2 In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
3 Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined dont overmix!.
4 Gently fold in the toasted chopped pecans.
Step 3: Fill the Donut Pan
1 Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
2 Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a donut comes out clean.
3 Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 4: Make the Butter Pecan Glaze
1 In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
2 Stir in the brown sugar and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to bubble and the sugar fully dissolves.
3 Add the heavy cream and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the glaze thickens slightly.
4 Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
Step 5: Glaze the Donuts
1 Dip the cooled donuts into the butter pecan glaze, letting any excess drip off.
2 Place the glazed donuts back on a wire rack and optionally sprinkle additional chopped pecans on top of the glaze before it sets.
Step 6: Serve
